Hi,
Just picked up a 2009 x728 last week. I purchased it from a dealer in NY and had it shipped to me in WI. Its been very hectic with the holidays and such and haven't had an opportunity to use it other than drive it into the garage from when it was dropped off. Well yesterday was my first chance to go tinker with it. My plan was to remove the mower deck and install the snowblower. Well much to my surprise I was unable to do so. I found the the mower deck does not raise or lower. The deck height knob is stuck at 2.5 and won't move (I'm assuming because the weight of the deck is on it).
Ok, so the things I've done to this point. Checked the lockout valve: I found it to be all the way out, like its supposed to be for the mower deck. Well I screwed it all the way in and back out a couple times, but the mower deck is still not raising and lowering with the hydraulic lever. I checked the hydraulic fluid level: I found to be clean fresh oil and full. When I operate the levers I can hear the hydraulics trying to work but nothing moves. I engaged the PTO for the mower blades: The engine struggles and bogs and finally dies. It doesn't just shut off like a bad seat switch or brake switch or something, its like the PTO or its attachment is locked up and dragging the engine down.
Is there something simple I'm missing? Something that the dealership would have put in place for transportation, like a transport mode or something?
Also, some things that I have noticed that might be useful in diagnosing this, the power steering is quite noisy and hard to turn when cold. After warming up this reduces significantly but is still present. The forward and reverse motion of the machine seems to work flawlessly.
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
